THE EFFECTS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION ANDENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS ON STUDENTS ENTREPRENEURIALINTENTION OF POLYTECHNIC IN SOKOTO STATE

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurship
skills on students’ entrepreneurial intention of polytechnics in Sokoto state. Data was
compiled from students studying in six different colleges at the polytechnic, using crosssectional research design. This study adopted cluster sampling and randomly selected 375
respondents and questionnaires were proportionately distributed and collected through
personally administered method. SPSS V25 was used to analyze the data and regression was
conducted. The results found significant positive impact to both Entrepreneurship education,
entrepreneurship skills on students’ entrepreneurial intention. It is expected that
Entrepreneurship education and skills will enhance students’ intention to be entrepreneur.
The study contributes to the literature of entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurship skills
and entrepreneurial intention of students particularly in the polytechnic, policy makers, and
researchers with better understanding on the role entrepreneurship knowledge and skills as
well as entrepreneurial intention for students.
