This study examines the role of digital skills in enhancing youth employability through
vocational and entrepreneurship education within the context of an increasingly digitalized
global economy. The transformation of labour market demands has made digital
competencies essential for both paid employment and self-reliance. However, concerns
persist regarding the inadequate integration of digital skills within vocational and
entrepreneurship education programme in developing countries such as Nigeria. The study
adopted a descriptive survey research design involving students and instructors in vocational
and entrepreneurship education programme. Data were collected using a structured
questionnaire and analysed using mean and standard deviation. Findings revealed that
respondents possess a relatively high level of digital skills, which significantly enhance
employability, job readiness, and entrepreneurial capacity. However, challenges such as
inadequate ICT infrastructure, limited access to digital resources, and insufficient instructor
competence were identified as major constraints. The study further identified key strategies
for improving digital skills acquisition, including curriculum integration, provision of ICT
infrastructure, and continuous training of instructors. The study concludes that effective
integration of digital skills into vocational and entrepreneurship education is essential for
improving youth employability and recommends increased investment in digital
infrastructure and capacity development.
