GUIDE TO AUTHORS

SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL

The Nigerian Journal of Soil and Environmental Research is published by Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture/Institute

for Agricultural Research, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. The Journal accepts articles only in English. The Journal publishes

original research in soil science and environmental issues, in the areas of soil genesis and classification, soil chemistry and fertility, soil

microbiology and biochemistry, soil physics, management of soil and water resources, agroclimatology, geography of soil, and

environmental issues of interest to soil science not published in full elsewhere.

 

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPT

Manuscripts should be typed in MS-Word and submitted electronically by e-mail to the Editor-in-Chief as an attached file. A hard copy

may be requested from the author(s) if considered necessary.

The manuscripts should be prepared/typed in A4 paper format with double line spacing. After the reviewed manuscript has been received

and corrections effected, the corrected copy with legible figures if any, should be returned also by e-mail.  The original corrected

manuscript must be returned by post. The following organizational sequence should be followed:-

 

Title of paper

  • Name and address of the author, for example:

Adeboye, M.K.A. for single author and

Adeboye, M.K.A., Yusuf, J.Y. and Ibitoye, R.K.M. for multiple authors

Abstract

  • Keywords:About 4 to 5 key words arranged in alphabetical order
  • Introduction
  • Materials and methods
  • Results and discussion (should not be separated)

Processing Fee

A non-refunable processing fee of four thousand (N4,000.00) in cash or bank draft or 25 US dollars must be paid when submitting the

manuscript. The Journal account will be made available to you in the letter acknowledging receipt of your manuscript.

 

Page charge

A page charge of ten thousand naira (N10,000.00) in cash or 25 US dollars must be paid per article of 12 printed pages and two thousand

naira (N2,000.00) for each extra page to a maximum of twenty printed pages currently applies. Equivalent of these amount in US dollar

applies for authors outside Nigeria.

 

Selling price.

A copy of the journal sells for two thousand (N2000) naira or 10 US dollars per copy for individuals in academics and three thousands

(N3,000) Naira or 20 US dollars per copy for Institutions, Libraries and Cooperate Organizations.

 

Reprints: Corresponding Authors will be given an electronic version and a hard copy of their articles free, co-authors may need to acquire copies of the journal at a reduced cost of One Thousand (N1000) Naira or 5 US dollars per copy only.
