The study analyzed the training needs and constraints to participation of youth cooperatives in agribusiness activities in Kano State, Nigeria. Data for the study was obtained using structured questionnaire and focus group discussion. Multistage sampling was employed to select 108 respondents from twelve youth’s cooperatives in the study area. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. The result shows that majorities (52.3%) of the respondents were within the age bracket of 26-30years and 68.0% had basic education. Finding further showed that 43.52%, 23.15%, 19.44% and 13.89% of the respondents belong to producer, processing, marketing and multipurpose cooperatives respectively. A greater proportion (94.44%) of the youth indicated training on rice and wheat production as their most preferred needed training. The result further revealed that inadequate funds (100%), inadequate credit facilities (88.90%), high cost of farm inputs (75.00%) and delay in provision of farm inputs (58.33%) as the major constraints to youth participation in agribusiness activities in Kano State. The study recommends that Federal and States Government and Non-Governmental Organizations that are into development programs should take into cognizance the identified problems that constrained effective participation of youths in agribusiness activities when planning an intervention programme to encourage effective participation. Credit facilities should be made available, accessible and easily affordable by the youths to enhance their effective participation in agribusiness activities in the study area.
