Abstract
Social issues are among the most important topics that the scholar Al-Aluri
addressed. These issues and ideas are dispersed throughout the works of Al-Aluri.
One of his noble students, Sheikh Adam Yahya Al-Fulani, undertook the task of
collecting these issues and explaining their objectives in his book titled 'With the
Pioneer of Nigerian Islamic Thought in the Twentieth Century.' Given the
scientific value of this book in elucidating social issues as perceived by Al-Aluri,
the researcher proceeded accordingly. One of the significant aspects of this
article is its aim to guide researchers on how to approach various social issues
within religious, intellectual, and literary texts. The scientific objectives that this
article seeks to achieve include: identifying the sources to which Al-Aluri’s social
issues can be traced in his various writings; presenting the social issues he
discussed and the solutions he proposed for each; recognizing the most
knowledgeable of his students in understanding his methods for addressing
different social issues; and identifying the one who best clarified his various
ideas. To achieve the goals of this study, the researcher adopted both inductive
and descriptive methodologies. Although many social issues are discussed in the
book, the researcher will focus on two of them: the educational issue and the
religious issue, as the remaining issues are rooted in these two.
