Daliyya Poem by Sheikh Hassan Ahmad Zarouk Al-Ilori: A Musical Study
Abstract
The poem encompasses many elements from which it derives its value and beauty, including music. Music is one of the oldest and greatest artistic expressions in human history. In poetry, music is considered an essential element, playing a significant role in shaping the aesthetic formation of the poetic text. It is impossible to imagine the existence of poetry without the presence of music; they are inseparable. The ancients recognized the importance of musical rhythm in the construction of poetry, its connection to imagery and imagination. They believed that poetry combines imaginative expression with rhythm, as both contribute to the poetic essence. No matter how many images and emotions a poet gathers, they do not become truly poetic unless touched by the fingers of music, pulsating with rhythmic weight. The article titled: " Daliyya Poem by Sheikh Hassan Ahmad Zarouk Al-Ilori: A Musical Study " sheds light on the musical techniques employed by Sheikh Hassan Ahmed Zarouk Al-Ilori in his poem. The researcher divides the article, after the introduction, into three main parts: the first discusses the concept of internal and external music, the second introduces the poet, and the third conducts a study of musical techniques in the poem, which includes an analysis of genre, structure, quotation, correspondence, and effective division to overcome shortcomings in the poem's expression. Additionally, the external music study covers the analysis of weight and rhyme. The conclusion is followed by an index of sources and references.
